Global Services exists to provide solution delivery, release management, and service management capabilities for various functions across Lilly, supporting HR, Finance, GBS, Legal and Supply Chain. This position will serve as the IT manager for the Lilly personnel and service partners across Human Resources. This position will partner with the HR business and the IDS leadership to deliver on the operations roadmap and support the Workday rollout and HR transformation. This role will work in each area of Global HR to ensure we are managing the existing technology portfolio for HR while balancing with the resource needs for the new Workday initiative. This person will have a primary leadership role in the HCM transition to Workday and the continued evolution of the new HR IDS org.
1. Resource Management
- Manage IT people (develops staffing strategy and resource capacity, recruiting and hiring) and dollars (budgets) to meet those objectives
- Proactively partner with each direct report to ensure development needs and career objectives are clearly expressed, documented and tracked persistently
- Develop IT area strategies and objectives and encourage the adoption of IT best practices or standardized processes
- Develop business proposals to improve utilization of existing assets and drive value from these assets
- Communicate direction by prioritizing work within IT portfolio of projects and service, and reinforce compliance
- Coordinate IT process alignment by leading a team in the delivery of projects and services
2. Innovation and Automation
- Drive opportunities to make HR more effective and efficient through the core systems Workday, Success Factors Learning and LillyNow as well as other global systems.
- Partner with the business and with the IDS Automation team to deliver automation to HR, Supervisors and Managers globally
2. Solution Delivery
- Drive account focused strategic and business plan discussions with business leaders about upcoming business needs and transformation possibilities
- Oversee robust release management practices and ensure proactive alignment with business partners
- Ensure clear communication channels with all stakeholders involved in the solution delivery efforts
- Proactively manage project risk and issues while identifying the appropriate mitigations
- Leverage appropriate solution delivery practices to enable timely value realization
3. Service Management
- Ensure proactive sustainability and resilience for applications and platforms across the account
- Develop strong relationships with internal Service Owners, service providers and Supplier Managers in Lilly IT organizations regarding the delivery of end-to-end services
- Designs, implements and manages the Service Level Management process to deliver the end-to-end IT service at a level that supports the business need and requirements
- Engage in continuous improvement through annual reviews of the Service Management processes
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, management of information systems, engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT solution delivery, service management, or portfolio management
- Experience in providing technical coaching and feedback to business analysts, technology professionals, and quality professionals
- Experience in developing budgets, forecasts, and plans, and demonstrated ability to manage to financial plans
- Experience in vendor management to provide solutions and services
Additional Skills/Preferences
- Demonstrated strong customer interaction skills
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively about complex business problems and resolve these through new approaches
- Experience managing privacy information
- Previous supervisory experience
- Experience in human resource operations
- Experience in successfully delivering to quality standards within the Lilly Quality System
- Certification in ITIL processes
- Previous experience in an application delivery or application services center of excellence or central infrastructure support team
